Frangokastello is a small and very beautiful village on the southwest coast of Crete. On one side of the village is an impressive mountainview, on the other the Libyan sea with its safe,sandy beaches. Because of its unique location Frangokastello provides wonderful opportunities for swimming, walking in unspoilt cretan countryside, visiting historic small churches, or climbing up the mountains and gorges.

Famous gorges to visit are the Samaria Gorge, Imbros Gorge and Kalikratis Gorge.

About 10 kilometers away is Hora Sfakion, a village with a harbor, providing scenic boat trips along the southern coast.
